OK, first of all let me be clear about the fact that I'm not a real big fan of American Idol. Just feels too much like karaoke night down at my favorite watering hole at times. Great concept, but some of it is just way too brutal and requires too much of my energy to wade through.
That said, America Idol winner Carrie Underwood has released her second CD entitled Some Hearts and oh my... Is it good. It's really good!
Of course the ability to sing is and has always been quite obvious and unquestionable, but the big question for me was can she deliver as a serious artist?
Question answered.
With Some Hearts she delivers the goods, and then some. Every song on this CD could easily be a chart topper in one category or another. Every one!
Not that she needs to hear it from me but Underwood is talented beyond belief.
It's official, Country fans say hello to your new reigning Queen.
The standout tunes on Some Hearts are Don't Forget To Remember Me, track 2, Lessons Learned track 6, and Starts With Goodbye track 8. My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 4, Jesus, Take The Wheel. Wow!
