Thoughts in Words - Book Review

Yinka Adebiyi?s new book of poetry, Thoughts in Words, was certainly written with the intent to encourage and uplift its readers.

This book represents seven years of dedicated work by a talented author, and community-minded musician. Much of the content is very up beat with a spiritual and inspirational theme.

Yinka discusses love and friendship quite a bit in the poetry and reveals how important being able to share troubles with someone trusted is to him. Life?s challenges, common decency and joy of living are also touched upon.

I have two favorite poems in this book, The Possibility and Winner. Here?s an excerpt from Winner that truly moved me with its strength:

"I am surrounded by negativity.
There is a label on me.
However, I am not moved.
There is lots of gossip about me.
I am not shaken by it."

In this world, where individuals are surrounded by seemingly surmountable challenges and bombarded with negativity ? Thoughts in Words will bring some welcome relief to its readers.
