Explore The Power of Poetic Expression

Putting your emotions on paper...

During the final week of National Poetry Month, it seemed only appropriate to pen a feature about writing poems.

Poetry can be a stress-reliever for some readers. Whether they escape reality or become consumed with figuring out the meaning of the verse, readers tend to gain some sort of relaxation from reading poetry.

I believe writing poetry can result in the same sort of stress-reduction. If you think about your feelings and try to put them into words that make sense to you, you may find that an incredible poem is the result.

Don't try to rhyme your words. Don't attempt to make your words mean something to anyone else. Don't think about following formatted patterns.

Just write!
