Putting Baby to Bed all Night
I have never had any problem with any of my five children
sleeping through the night. I started each child in my room
until they seemed to sleep through most of the night. I then
moved my children around the age of 9 to 10 months, into another
close by room with a monitor. I made it a point to put them to
bed at the same time every night. Even at nap time I tried to do
it at the same time everyday. I know that sometimes things come
up to where we aren't home but if you take 2 weeks and stick
with this routine your child will learn that this area of the
house is for sleeping. Now how to get them to sleep all night, I
would first about 20 minutes before their set bedtime warm a
bottle or breastfed my children to get their tummies full.
Change their diapers make sure they are comfortable. Be sure and
have a dim light on in their room away from their cribs or out
in the hall next to their door. That way if they do wake up
unexpectedly you won't have to turn the light on and get your
baby wide awake and may not go back to sleep at all. When you
lay your baby down to go to sleep have some soft music playing.
Never hang around when you lay baby down this just makes baby
not want to go to sleep. You can watch your baby from the door
and that's okay. Make sure that your baby can't see you. Give
your child a chance I know that it will be hard the first few
days to just leave your baby lying there but if you just walk
away and let them get adjusted to the room and sleeping by their
self. I promise you in two weeks they will be sleeping all
night. All five of my children ended up sleeping all by their
selves. I never had to rock them to sleep or anything. As they
got older I just said ok it's time for bed. We would brush their
teeth, drink a cup, and off to bed. They never had a problem
going to bed without mommy. I now it can be hard on us parents
to let our little ones grow up. Since my children were little
and old enough to sleep by themselves they have woke up in happy
moods and well slept. And guess what so has mommy.
