Are You Buried In Boxes After The Holidays?

Boxes and Ribbon and Paper OH MY! (Part 4) After the gifts are open what do you have left? BOXES!!!! Here are some great ideas of projects that can be done with all sizes. Learn the secrets Elves won't share! Secret 3: Learn how to turn all those boxes, into fun projects, that you can do with your children. In part 3 we discussed great ways to utilize ring boxes, jewelry boxes, and shoe boxes. If you missed them go onto our website The Big Brown Box, Inc. Here are a few more fun ways to use boxes. Shirt Boxes Instead of buying storage containers for your children's littlest of toys use shirt boxes. These are perfect for all kinds of kid items such as toy cars, beads, doll clothes etc. Boxes can be made with small compartments. Take wide strips of cardboard (3 long and 4 across) and place slits so they fit together like a tic-tac-toe board shape. These are easy to store on a shelf or under a bed. Kids can decorate these boxes so they know what's inside. So instead of buying them, have fun creating them with your kids and save money. Shirt boxes can also be used to creatively display your child's artwork. Cut a hole in the box lid, decorate the outside of the box, and attach your child's artwork inside. You can insert a loop of ribbon through the top of the box for hanging or support on the wall with thumb tacks or nails. The box has now become a frame for your child's artwork. This can be a great way to get the art off the refrigerator and decorate a hallway or child's room. It also is a great project for children on days when it snows or rains. Very Large Boxes Children love those large boxes and don't want you to throw them out. So don't! If you want a great toy that challenges your child than give them a large box. Everyone we talk to has a story about how they made a box their fort or time capsule. The fact remains that boxes are great for children. There are no rules or pre-conceived notions. The child is in control of what the box will be and how they will use it. It is the perfect toy! We have made many projects with boxes such as a tank with movable turrets, race car, and doll houses with curtains. Look at our projects on the website. A box holds all sorts of imaginative possibilities for a child, so unleash their creativity with a large box. The Best Box for Children Remember we think the best box is our character Browny Big Box.
