Erectile Dysfunction and Pollution

Erectile dysfunction is a known topic of discussion now among men and healthcare providers. People are curious to know more and more about this problem. There are various factors which cause ED; some are physical and some are psychological in nature.

Physical factors are:

Psychological factors are:

One more less known factor for the cause of Impotence or Erectile Dysfunction is Air pollution. Various studies were done and result showed that air pollution increases the risk of heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular problems. As we have discussed above, various physical factors along with heart related problems are present there. So indirectly air pollution leads to Impotence and Erectile Dysfunction. People who live in heavily polluted cities are more prone to have poor lung development and inadequate breathing ability. Impotence and erectile dysfunction (ED) are similar in nature.

Pollution also leads to low sperm formation in men. The reason is probably environmental (food, water and air) pollution involving chemicals. Some men's ejaculate contains antibodies to their own sperm. Alternatively, there may be no sperm at all, either because the man is producing none or because the delicate tubes which carry them are blocked. Sometimes sperm cannot penetrate the egg when they reach it; and in a very small number of cases there may be hormonal problems.

Lower sperm movement The tollgate workers had significantly lower sperm movement, including forward progression, and much lower levels in other tests of sperm kinetics and function.

"Environmental levels of occupational pollutants, except carbon dioxide, at the tollgates exceeded the maximum legal levels and the workers were exposed to significantly higher levels of nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides, carbon monoxide and lead than the controls," says study author Dr Michele De Rosa. - (HealthScout News)

Pollution is now increasing day by day. One has to be careful about his/her own health. Pollution also causes physical changes in the pelvis and infection of pelvis. Pollution can be in any form. Toxic intake or chemical intake leads to impotence also. There are so many gases and particles present in the air and they are not good for human beings. Cigarette smoke also causes pollution. Those people who smoke are more likely to suffer from heart dieses as well as impotence/ Erectile Dysfunction.

Pollution has become a matter which needs serious consideration and some good solutions are required to tackle and stop this growing menace. Increased exposure to the synthetic estrogens, such as DES, PCB's, DDT and other chemicals may also lead to impotence. Also, additional hormones in meat, food, air and water may sometime lead to male infertility. Exposure to heavy metals (mercury, lead, arsenic, etc.) is also secondary form of pollution.

Now it is the time to take some action against pollution. Pollution has become a matter of grave hazard to human health. If the air surrounding us keeps on polluting in astronomical proportion, then sooner or later there will be few people remaining who wouldn't be affected by nature's wrath.
