Lead Capturing

Lead capturing by Robert Nixon As you know in order for you to be considered a serious player on the internet then you must have your very own website. You have to get your site listed with the search engines and you have to have some sort of lead capture system for those that do visit your site. This lead capture system has to be an opt-in type, so your visitor takes some sort of action. It can be in the form of a newsletter subscription, a links type page ( FFA,Classified, or private), or even an e-mail list for up-dates from you. There a several ways you can do this, from having a form on your main site page for feedback or a guestbook, using pop-ups or pop-unders, or links to the forms or whatever to the sign-up page. Recently I went back to pop-ups and unders ( to agian see how they produce), but I like to use the last option best(links to forms) as then I can submit that sign-up page as a seperate url to the engines, safelist and other places I promote my site. Once you get the hang of creating simple site pages, they can be done in just a couple of minutes. Here is a sample of one : http://www.cpucash.net/bankmlm.html You can spend some more time and create or use a templated site page, but it will take a little longer such as: http://www.cpucash.net/curses.htm Sometimes you don't have to do hardly anything as your associate program may have one of these already in place for you such as: http://robertnixon.simpleasabc.com/ The number one way to convert a Free member or someone that has completed one of these above mentioned forms is to call them(if your capture includes a space for phone numbers), there is nothing like the personal touch. I have done this and also have had calls from those that I have filled in the forms in order to get more information from me. What induces me to complete the process and what will get others to do the same for you is to keep the initial contact 'low key'. There is nothing as bad a coming across as either a telemarketer or as being desperate. A simple way to start is to identify yourself, make sure the person you are speaking with is the person that filled in the form, and ask them to ask YOU questions. Tell them you want to make sure they serious and that you want to know if the program, product or service is for them. Tell them it is not for everyone and your offer may not be for them either. That way neither of you will waste one anothers time. You may want to give them options, such as various cost for items, such as basic, typical, advanced and deluxe. If your capture page does not have a space for a contact number, or they don't include one, then make sure it has an e-mail capture as a required field with some sort of verification routine. What I like to do here is to set up an autoresponder and then see which e-mails bounce, and not even bother with those that do. Some of you may not feel confident about talking to people so you may want to prepare a script. IF you don't want to speak to them at all because of whatever reason, such as you really don't have the budget to make anything other than local calls, then go the list or e-mail routes or submit your site to local yellow pages or directories only. Stress that you will coach them every step of the way, if needed and will always be there to answer questions, Give them the option of calling you by stating that when they are ready, to contact you either on the phone or via some other media. Be prepared to get some con artist, spamers, and those looking for a quick buck at no expense if you use the media only route. I have had many that sign my guestbook with nothing but promotions for their programs. This shows me they are either very, very desperate, don't know or care what they are doing or both. While we are again on the subject of spamers, here is a link you can put on your pages to defeat the spam-bots: http://www.iwebtool.com/webmasters/antispam/ Just put the link on your site page or go to the link and get the code for the button/box and use it instead, as I did at: http://www.cpucash.net and on my Free Stuff page at: http://www.cpucash.net/freestuff.html The longer you have the site up, the more links and pages you get associated with it, the better it will do IN TIME. I have added some more 'checkers' to my free stuff page for your use when I re-did it a few days ago. If you have not been there for awhile, then you will want to take a look. The competition is tough on the web, and you want to get as many of the people looking for your product or service to see your site as you can. Use the ranking, popularity tools to check how your doing but remember the engines are always changing so don't be alarmed with variations in your sites results. If you site is under the half million mark, depending on how long you have been promoting it, you should be happy. Robert Nixon webmaster/owner http://www.cpucash.net
