Warm Woolies Announces Website Update
Charity knitting service that
knits for orphans, Warm Woolies recently released an updated
version of its website located at http://www.warmwoolies.org.
The website features a page about a special volunteer, that has
done something truly extraordinary for the charity. It also
includes a page about knitting (knitting lessons), information
about where Warm Woolies contributes, free knitting patterns,
guidelines for those knitters who wish to contribute and ways to
contribute.
Warm Woolies contributes to Rosebud and Pine Ridge Reservations
in South Dakota, which have the lowest per capita incomes in the
United States. Only 12% are not homeless or living in
substandard housing. With the contributions made by Warm
Woolies, the children on these reservations are given warm,
hand-knit hats, vests, booties, mittens and other clothing items
to keep them dry, warm and comfortable during the long winter
months. Warm Woolies also contributes to Eastern European and
Chinese Orphanages. These orphanages are in desperate need of
warm clothing for the orphans residing in them. Currently during
this year Warm Woolies has knit 979 pieces. Their goal for the
year is to knit 1500 pieces. The organization still needs
donations of yarn and time for knitting. They are hoping with
the redesign of the website, they will receive more help to aid
all of the children in need of warm clothing.
