Helping your Downline -- The Key to YOUR Success

In the world of MLM, it can sometimes feel like you are on your own. After all, it's usually done in the comfort of your own home, so you might not get the feeling of community you might from a traditional bricks-and-mortar company. If anything, however, people in MLM companies are MORE dependent upon each other than in any other kind of business. MLMs are a living embodiment of the phrase, "United we stand, divided we fall." Unless you are only looking for a short-term return on your investment, you will need to make sure that your downline succeeds. How can you do that? It's simple -- give them the tools you yourself used to succeed. This can take many shapes: 1) Pass along your sales techniques. If you have had any success with your recruitment and sales (and if you're worried about helping your downline, you must have had SOME success!), then let your downline see and use your materials. You can even go so far as to prepare a general template that they can use to construct a personalized sales letter or classified ad. 2) Pass along your resources and contacts. Many MLMers have discovered that the biggest trick to marketing is understanding when to let others do the work for them. If you have discovered a good marketing or promotion deal, let your downline know about it. The same goes for any other resources (advice, articles, software programs, etc.) that have helped you in the past. 3) Pass along your experience. The best gift you can give your downline is your knowledge and expertise. After all, you've been through the process -- they haven't. If you can pass along your experience and advice to your downline, it will help them avoid any potential problems. This, of course, will make them forever grateful to you! The most important thing to remember when dealing with your downline is this: Their success is YOUR success. By helping them in any way you can, you will not only help build your reputation and credibility -- you will build your profits!
