You Can Pray Anytime, Anywhere
There is no such thing as a time--or place--where it's
inappropriate to talk to God. Nothing in this world can prevent
you from lifting up your heart in earnest prayer. Whether you
are in the middle of a traffic jam, or an important business
meeting, or in some dangerous place, you may always send up a
prayer for divine help and guidance.
You can talk with Jesus as you walk down the street, for He has
promised to be at your right hand. He is your ever-constant
companion. Whether you are washing dishes or hosing down the
car, you can breathe out your heart's desire to Jesus. Your
prayer may be inaudible to any human ear, yet your words will
not die away into silence, nor can they be lost. Nothing can
drown out your prayer. It will rise above the honking of horns,
the whir of factory machines, or the loudest thunder. Regardless
of the noise factor around, when you are talking to God, you can
be sure your prayer will be heard.
More than that, your earnest request for grace and strength will
be answered. Ask God to do what you can't do for yourself. Tell
Jesus everything. His eye searches the inmost recesses of your
soul: He reads your thoughts like an open book. Why not, then,
lay the secrets of your heart before Him?
When you have asked for things that are necessary for the good
of your soul, believe that you receive them, and you will have
them. Jesus died so that you could have the precious things of
heaven as your own, and at last find a home with the heavenly
angels in the kingdom of God. Why not, then, accept His gifts
with your whole heart? You can be sure that, if you find your
voice and a time to pray, God will find time and a voice to
answer.
