WORKS 4 U
FIRST LOVE RECOVERY MINISTRIES
WORKS 4 U
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good
works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in
"No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the
making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join
him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for
us to do, work we had better be doing."
No member of God's kingdom is destined to be 'unemployed' in his
glorious service. All members of God's kingdom are God's
workmanship. God's workmanship are those that are created by God
in Christ Jesus for the sole purpose of joining him in the works
that he does. To be part of this workmanship, one needs to
sincerely repent of one's sins and humbly accept Jesus Christ as
one's personal Lord and Saviour(John 1:12;2 Cor.5:17).
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according
to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost;"
Outside Christ, one's 'good works' are actually 'dead' in God's
sight! Such 'good works' are not good enough to save one from
"Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me
thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my
Good works are an evidence and a clear demonstration of one's
faith in Christ even when one encounters one's 'enemies'.
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father
which is in heaven."
"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?
and in thy name done many wonderful works?"
"And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart
from me, ye that work iniquity."
Good works are not works that seem good in one's sight but they
are works that are commanded by God as one is led and empowered
by the Holy Spirit.
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with
power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were
oppressed of the devil; for God was with him."
"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the
night cometh, when no man can work."
As a disciple of Christ,God expects one to be an imitator of
Christ in doing good works.
"He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country
to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return."
"And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds,
and said unto them, Occupy till I come."
The Lord is likened to 'a certain nobleman',his workmanship are
likened to 'his ten servants',and his resources given to each of
his workmanship are likened to 'ten pounds'. His resources
generally include time, the bible, the fellowship of other
believers in Christ, and the Holy Spirit;and specifically each
Christian's unique talents,spiritual gifts,and skills. Spiritual
gifts include the gifts of the Spirit listed in 1
Cor.12:8-10;and the ministry gifts listed in Rom.12:6-8,1
In conclusion,if you are part of God's workmanship, then these
good works are the 'works 4 u'!
And when you 'occupy till the Lord comes' by faithfully
doing these works, you are fulfilled;others are edified;and God
This is your destiny in Christ Jesus in this present life!
"Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all
iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of
