Having a Bad Day

I know at sometime or another that we all have had a bad day. Those days just seem to go on forever, with no end in sight. Nothing seems to work out for you. It's as if the world has chosen that one day to be against you and only you. I have had a few days like that myself and have found just a few ways to make it through those rough days. We all know that the world doesn't stop just because we are having a bad day. Tip # 1 - Try to step back from the situation. Take about a 15 minute break. Go into a room, shut the door, and sit down. Breathe in and out a few times. Try to think that it's not as bad as it seems. Most people including myself make our problems seem a lot worse than they really are. When you are having a bad day think positive about the situation. There will always be something good in the situation if you just look for it. Tip # 2 - If you have older children allow then to help you out at whatever tasks that you still have to complete. It might be work related, cleaning, cooking the family meal, or even giving a little brother or sister a bath. This one in itself helps out with stress. It also allows your children to learn some responsibility. We don't really give our children enough credit. They know more than we think. Just let them try if they can't do it. It is fine. Tip # 3 - Ask your spouse for a night out on the town. If you can't find a sitter then take the whole family. In my experiences just a change of scenery has gotten my mind off of my problems, for a while anyway. Tip # 4 - A good tip that I use often and it really works out well for everyone. Get the children to grab a game that you have lying around the house. Get them all around the table and play a game with them. It helps get your mind on something else and you get to spend some great quality time with the children. Tip # 5 - If you have the time for this tip it will work wonders on a bad day mood. Go into your bathroom, run a hot bath, add bubbles, light some aromatherapy candles, turn out the lights, and enjoy. If this doesn't help you I suggest putting on your pajamas, climbing into to bed, and cover up your head until morning.
