How to Wax Your Own Eyebrows
Waxing your own eyebrows isn't a difficult or particularly
painful task, and can save you some money in the process.
First find a good brand of wax, the best type is the kind you
have to melt and uses muslin type cloth strips. Follow their
directions for melting.
Use a toner and cleanse eyebrow area then dry thoroughly. You
want them to be very clean and dry.
First, you need to get a picture of the perfect shape you want
to aim towards. A general rule of thumb is the brow should start
straight above the inner corner of your eye, and end above the
corner of your outer eye. The highest peak of the brow should be
straight above the pupil of your eye.
All you want to do with waxing is shape the brow to this contour
cleanly. Be careful not to do too much, you can always do more
if you want. The goal is a natural looking brow.
Use a wooden stick or toothpick to apply the warm wax. Always
apply the wax in the direction of hair growth. For the brow
area, that's towards the outer eye. On the bridge of the nose
area, the growth area is straight up. Work in small sections.
Immediately, apply the muslin cloth and press for a few seconds
so the wax can adhere. Using your thumb and forefinger with one
hand, stretch the skin tight. With the other hand with a fast
motion, rip the cloth in the opposite direction of hair growth.
This will be opposite of the direction you applied the wax.
Bridge of the nose area, you'll be pulling downwards. Eyebrow
area will be pulling towards your nose. If a few stragglers are
missed, pluck those with tweezers.
Next, cleanse your eyebrow with toner again. Apply some gentle
lotion. The area may be pink for a few hours.
With some practice, it becomes very easy to do and takes very
little time.
