Be an Original Not a Copy
Do you go through life trying to be someone else? Perhaps
someone rich and famous or someone you grew up with that you
think has it all? Well, Stop.
If God wanted two people to be exactly alike he would have made
them that way. Even twins have personality differences.
Questions for you to consider
What's wrong with you or more specifically with your life that
you are trying to run away? What do you get out of hiding your
true self? Do you make others happy? Or, is it that you have
lived a lie for so long that you don't know who you are?
Who dictates How You feel about you?
Vanessa was moved from home to home until she was eight. Her
mother was a felon. Whenever she did something wrong it was
attributed to her status. The message she received was that she
had to be perfect. Do you know what that does to a person? It
sets them up for failure. She ended up running away from home at
the age of 15 to get away from it.
It was at that time that she remembers experiencing real
emotions like anger and love. Someone else had always told her
what she was supposed to feel. She learned by bad examples since
the people she copied had no control. This example is important
because when you accept living like someone else you also accept
their problems.
It took her years to learn that she was fine. Learn from her
that you are okay and that the love you want will never be
really yours as long as you are someone else. Whoever said you
had to be flawless? In some cultures people can feel they are
measured by their race. As long as others dictate how you feel
about you then you will continue to be a victim of this
stupidity.
How is the Mansion?
Recently heard a woman talk about how each of us is born with a
mansion for a soul and it is filled with lots of rooms. Each
room has a name like greed or love. Whenever someone criticizes
us about a part of our personality we shut that room off. She
said by the time people pick you apart you are left with a two
bedroom apartment in need of repair. Her point was that there
are traits that you were designed to have that may not be good
for others so embrace them and stop apologizing for them.
Poem for You
Envision
Your are exactly as I envisioned the day I set my plan
your grace and loveliness a work of my hand
your dark hair and brown eyes a vision to behold
beautiful was my intent when I began to mold
You are exactly as I envisioned when I spoke your name
sensitive and sweet not hard and vain
your boldness and courage a part of my strength
candid and outspoken this was my intent
If you are confident enough to be who you really are then you
enable others to be their self.
