What Does It Feel Like To Be Hypnotized?
During hypnosis you may block out all noises and sounds and only
concentrate on the person hypnotizing you. When you're not
hypnotized you are aware of all of your senses such as if it's
sunny or cloudy outside, warm or cold. When you are hypnotized
you willingly shut off all feedback from your senses. With out
any distractions from your senses you can focus more closely on
words and subliminal messages provided by the hypnotist.
While paying listening to the hypnotist, you may experience the
voice as if it is coming from far away even though it maybe very
close to you. Most people become mellow and feel completely
relaxed. Often people relate hypnosis to a sort of meditation-
however hypnosis is much more powerful as it gives you
suggestions for a positive change. Others equate hypnosis to a
medical drug and say they feel a natural high.
During hypnosis
you may have a distorted perception of time. What seems like
a minute or two is actually 20 minutes. Your body may feel
weighed down and very heavy is you are lying down, or else it
may feel light as a feather as if you are floating on a cloud.
Your hypnotist is the one that can control how your body feels
too by giving suggestions and you will readily comply as you are
in an auto-suggestive state. For example if the hypnotist said
"you are going to feel completely relaxed, and your body will
become very light as if you are drifting on a cloud" you will in
fact become very relaxed feel have the sensation that you are
drifting on a cloud.
You must realize however that each person experiences hypnosis
in their own unique way. All in all hypnosis and subliminal
suggestions can lead to a positive change in many peoples lives.
Weather a person is suffering from dieting, smoking, anxiety,
sleeplessness and many other bad habits hypnosis has been proven
effective.
