Canadians miss Sue Johanson and The Sunday Night Sex Show
For many people in the United States Sue Johansson and the
Sunday Sex show is probably not a well known name. Sue is to
Canada as Dr. Ruth is to the United States. A down to earth
educator on human sexuality. She provides an oppurtunity for
people to call and discuss relationships, having sex, common
sexual diseases and to how to use sex toys and devices
Here is a short Bio.
Sue Johanson is Canada's foremost sexual educator and
counsellor, recipient of the distinguished Order of Canada. For
the last 30 years, she has provided frank and honest sexual
education to thousands of Canadians through her lectures, radio
programs, and the Sunday Night Sex Show on television. Aside
from her duties as a sexual educator, Sue is a Registered Nurse,
a mother, and a grandmother. She continues to tour universities
and special events, lecturing on sexuality and answering a
panoply of audience questions that runs the gamut from anal sex
to zygotes
I was channel surfing one Sunday night, the first time I came
across Sue. I could not believe how frank she was, so
comfortable with questions from the viewers. Always to the point
and down to earth. The most remarkable thing with Sue is how she
connects with viewers instantly. .She listens intently to the
viewer's question and formulates answers that make common sense.
Adding a little dose of humor to lighten the conversation and
make the caller feel relaxed. The odd caller would stump Sue,
she would tell the caller to tune in next week. She would do her
research and come back next week with the answer. I tuned in
every Sunday night to watch, if I was busy, I taped the show and
viewed it later.
My favorite part of the Sunday night sex show was the treasure
chest. Each week Sue would go to the treasure chest and
introduce a new sex toy. She gave an honest open opinion on the
sex toy. She described the advantages and disadvantages of the
toy. If Sue did not like the sex toy she would explain why. Sue
has introduced her own line of sex toys. They can be viewed here

October 19, 2005 at 05:25:25: Hello,That really sucks she isn't
doing the Sunday Night Sex Show anymore. Why? I know a lot of
people who watched it. Is there anyway for us to watch the US
show in Peterborough?

This was a very difficult decision for Sue to make. She had been
doing the Sunday Night Sex Show for 21 years STRAIGHT in Canada,
and she felt that Canadians were well enough informed about sex
that it was getting redundant. So, she decided to focus on 'Talk
Sex' for the US and Brazil. No Canadian broadcaster currently
carries 'Talk Sex', but that may change in the New Year. Write
to CBC and ask for it.
