Premature Ejaculation
What is it? Premature ejaculation is when the man's ejaculation
occurs before desired or too quick during intercourse to satisfy
their partners. This is relative: what can be considered quick
for some might be normal to others.
Since it usually takes from 15-30 minutes of stimulation for a
woman to reach an orgasm during intercourse, ejaculating before
that timeframe creates a problem, where the woman's needs are
not satisfied. You could always pleasure her other ways, but I'm
sure it would be much more fulfilling if both partners can reach
their orgasms through intercourse.
It could be caused from the expectation of being with a woman
you wanted to have sex with for a while. It's normal in this
case that the first time, and maybe a couple of times after
that, the ejaculation comes quick after starting to have sex.
However, if it keeps happening, then it could become a problem,
and there are solutions for it. You would say, how quick is too
quick? If you can't wait and ejaculate before your partner does
and can't control it, it's too quick.
Causes: - Psychological: Anxiety, stress, guilt, over excitement
- Physical: Excess of masturbation (yes, it teaches your body
how to reach orgasm more easily), testosterone imbalance,
urinary tract infections and nervous system dysfunction. -
Drugs: caffeine, over the counter cold pills and cigarettes have
been linked to premature ejaculation. Yet another reason to quit
smoking.
The tips on how to eliminate premature ejaculations are given
below. They're free, effective and guaranteed to help you
control your ejaculation and with time and practice you will be
able to ejaculate only when you want to.
1. The squeeze method: This technique involves gently squeezing
the base or end of the penile shaft and stopping sexual
stimulation until the urge to ejaculate passes. The squeezing
can be done by either the man or his partner. So you stimulate
yourself (or have your partner stimulate you) until you're about
to ejaculate. Then you squeeze just below the the head of your
penis, mainly using your index and thumb hard enough to make you
partially loose the erection. While you do this, tighten your
pelvic floor muscle and hold. This is called a Kegel exercise,
when you contract the pelvic muscles. The kegel exercise is
simple: "flex" the pelvic muscle as if you are holding back from
or stopping urination.
Release both, and stimulate yourself again, and do the squeeze
and flex again. You can do this for as long as you want, maybe
3, 4 times or as many as you can take before actually
ejaculating. The goal of this technique is to teach the man to
become aware of the sensations leading up to orgasm, and then
begin to control and delay his orgasm on his own. When you learn
this, all it will take is for you to do the kegel flex exercise
when having sex for your body to recognize it's not time to
ejaculate yet. After you have managed it, you can add
lubrication to the stimulation and practice it that way, which
will be harder. It takes time, and you might spill the first
time or 2, but you need to be patient.
2. The stop-start method: I could be done with a partner or
while masturbating. This technique simply means to bring
yourself near the point of no return, and stopping all
stimulation before it's too late. For some men, this includes
removal of the penis from the vagina, but it's not necessary.
Then as you feel you regain control, begin stimulating again
(whether you're masturbating, or your partner giving you a hand
job, them giving you oral, or just normal intercourse). This
procedure is repeated three times before allowing yourself to
ejaculate on the fourth time. You can repeat this 3 times a week
until you gain control of your ejaculation. Then, progress to
stop-start with lubrication, although this you probably only
need it if masturbating, since while having intercourse you'll
probably have all the lubrication you need. After you've managed
that, then try intercourse with the woman on top and the man not
moving. You again instruct her to stop moving when you sense
you're losing control. Eventually, instead of stopping and
starting, you can just slow down when you're about to ejaculate
until you regain control.
These 2 techniques are good to use every time you masturbate,
instead of going for a quick one like usual. Some other simple
things you can do to help you control your ejaculation:
- Wear a condom if you usually don't, sometimes this is all it
takes to help you last longer, since the sensation is less. -
Changing sexual positions every so often gives you a little time
to cool off, and also you can find one where you have more
control on and can hold it longer. - Masturbate first. As simple
as it sounds, if you masturbate first, or have your partner to
make you ejaculate some other way before intercourse, the second
time you should be able to last longer.
The tips above have been reported to help about 95% of men to
prolong their lovemaking. Remember to be sure to contact your
health provider if you feel that you have a severe premature
ejaculation problem.
