Warning: Objects of our criticism are not as dumb as they appear
While Master P on Dances with the Stars has not evoked the
obvious jokes about "shooting stars" yet, the man best known for
his groans in his songs is making the rest of his people groan
by watching him continue his so-called ghetto hood roots on the
dance floor. No one made him join the cast of that show, and you
would have to think that as a successful business man, he would
have at least watched an episode of last season's show to know
what he was getting himself into. Instead, we have to see this
southern rapper do the waltz in sneakers and a personalized
baseball cap in a performance that brought his partner to tears.
For his sheer lack of effort.
Not willing to be outdone by Ron Artest for dumbest NBA player
of the year award, Steve Francis was recently suspended by the
Orlando Magic for "conduct detrimental to the team". This is
typical behavior from today's players that don't seem to care
about there not being an "i" in team because they have all the
"i"'s they need in "rich" from the "millions" they have
"signed"in the contract.
At least in the case of professional sports players, most wait
until they have made their first million before they do
something stupid. Not so for a Mr. Marcus Vick. Maybe inspired
by the fact that his brother Michael has yet to live up to his
elite expectations, and fueled by the legal problems he
continues to get into while in College, Marcus Vick has decided
to make himself eligible for the NFL draft. He celebrates his
decision by going over to the local McDonald's and starts waving
his gun at teenagers that apparently didn't think he was a
Vick-tem as much as he was a complete moron.
Marcus must have been inspired by the recent robbery attempt by
Maurice Clarett, who can't seem to stay out of the news. Not
happy with having taken on the NFL and lost, Maurice decides he
needs to arm himself with a weapon and start with two
passerby's. Now, Maurice will go from being a running back that
was great between two white tackles to running to save his back
from being tackled.
Here is the good news. We are only 12 days into the new year. As
far as I am concerned, the proposed movie version of The
Boondocks can't come soon enough. There is a message that needs
to be heard in his comics that is well worth listening to. A
dose of reality with two shots of common sense. Best thing our
community has to leadership since...
