Busted For Illegal Operations
Will Microsoft toss you in jail for those illegal operations?
Can fatal exception errors kill you? Are page faults really the
page's fault, or are they yours?
Relax, as the first paragraph at the link above states, most of
these errors mean almost nothing, requiring only that you ignore
them, restart your program or reboot your computer.
These are only errors in your software, not mistakes you have
made, and certainly not anything anyone is going to come looking
for you about.
Now for those rare occasions when it's more serious. If you are
a novice, the only one of these things you will probably want to
do yourself is to run Scandisk (not available under XP).
Under other operating systems (Windows 98, etc) it is found by
selecting the Start button, Programs, Accessories and System
Tools. Left click on Scandisk and run it.
Good Luck!
