Picking a Vacation Spot: Things to Think About
What should you think about when trying to decide where to go on
vacation? It's not just throwing darts at a map - you'll need to
consider a lot of factors before going ahead and making your
decision. A place may sound nice or romantic, but if you don't
think about the practical side of things, you may still end up
with a bad vacation.
First, think about who is going. If it's more than one person,
which it probably will be, you need to make sure that you'll be
going to areas where everyone can have a good time. Some people
just may not be as interested in certain things - it's often
better to go with a larger group, so that you can break off. The
people who want to go see museums or monuments can go there in
smaller groups - people who have other interests can break off
and do their own thing, and the group can get back together in
the evening.
Second, think about the costs. Is this vacation really in your
price range? It's often better to go to a cheaper, second-choice
spot rather than going to a more expensive location. A trip to
Thailand or India or a country where things are less expensive
might end up being more fun than your first choice of France or
Germany - you'll have the money to do a lot of things you
probably couldn't in Europe or places where the cost of things
is much higher.
