WALKING IN THOSE CHOOS
Heels have never been more popular, and it seems the motto these
days is: "the higher the better!" Shoe designers are
specializing in super tall heels that will tower the wearer at
dizzying heights. From the tall and spindly stilettos to the
stacked and packed platforms, you may love the look of hot
designer heels, but your feet may not reciprocate this
adoration. Instead of sacrificing your feet for those hot, hot
heels, choose to wear your Choos with responsibility, thus
saving you a great amount of pain and money at the end of the
day.
Podiatrists all over the world cringe as their patients prance
into the office teetering on super high heels. It should come as
no shock that wearing these death defying beauties can lead to
future problems, including unsightly and painful bunions and
serious injuries, including bone or ligament damage. These
dangers are only after excessively wearing inappropriate
footwear, so instead of giving up your designer shoe collection,
just wear your high heels with limitations.
Even though you may be able to run a marathon in you trusty
stilettos does not mea that you should! Wear your shoes in
settings that require limited walking or only wear them indoors
where flat, even ground will reduce the chance of tripping or
falling while balancing on your shoes. Consider bringing an
alternate pair of shoes if you plan on doing a great deal of
walking or are walking over uneven surfaces. Avoid wearing high
heels during inclimate weather or when the walking surface will
be wet or slippery. Also, if you are heading to an outdoor party
of event that will take place on a lawn, think again before you
don your favorite pair of Choos. Although you may be wanting to
show off your inner fashionistas, the thin, spindly heels will
most likely become stuck in the ground, potentially causing you
to trip or fall, but also--and more importantly--ruining your
shoes.
By wearing your heels on a limited basis, you will not only save
your feet, but you will also prolong the life of your shoes.
Generally, designer shoes are nothing more than a super high
heel and some very modest straps that secure your foot to the
shoe. Even normal wear and tear can tremendously limit the
lifespan of your favorite shoes. Furthermore, tripping or
falling while wearing your designer shoes may not only
potentially inure you person, you can totally ruin you favorite
kicks by breaking a heel or snapping a strap.
