Group Discussions Group Discussion is an important part of the selection process where employers evaluate the candidate's potential to be a leader and also the ability to work in teams. Groups of 8-10 candidates are formed into a leaderless group, and are given a specific situation to analyze and discuss within a given time limit, which may vary between twenty minutes and forty-five minutes. They may be given a case study and asked to come out with a solution for a problem. They may be given a topic and are asked to discuss the same. What Is Being Tested? The objective of a group discussion is to mainly check your team playing skills because as a manager, you will be working in organizations with people and your efficiency will be measured from the output of the team, which you will be leading. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry with that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it but Nobody realized that Everybody would not do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done it.
