Mamma Mia Broadway Show Review
Mamma Mia is currently playing in New York City on the famous
theater district known as Broadway. The productions home is The
Wintergarden Theatre at 1634 Broadway. With a seating capacity
of 1482 and a proscenium stage, a very traditional Theatre to
see a Broadway show.
Mamma Mia has become a huge hit and very popular amongst
audiences and critics alike. With a great musical score, which
includes 22 hits from the supergroup ABBA, including the
original song "Mamma Mia". The show takes you back into the
heart of the 1970s and the disco frenzy of the era.
Set in the present-day on a small Greek Island. The show uses
the music of the group ABBA to tell the story of a mother and
her daughter who is soon to be wed. The young, soon to be wed,
woman named Donna. Donna realizes she is missing one thing for
her wedding day, her father. She sets out to find out who her
father is, behind her mothers back, and the adventure begins.
Donna does find her father, invites him to the wedding (without
her mother knowing) and then the fun begins, hence the name
Mamma Mia!
Music and lyrics by Benny Andersson & Bjorn Ulvaeus and under
the direction of Phyllida Lloyd, Mamma Mia has been a huge
success in New York. Running time is 2 hours 30 minutes with 1
intermission and ticket Broadway show Mamma Mia average around
