Live Fast, Die Young

Live Fast, Die Young Courtney Love is an American icon and the well known widow of Kurt Cobain. She also attempted singing in the unsurprisingly now-defunct band Hole. Nancy Spungen was an American groupie and the notorious girlfriend of Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious. A lot of people ask themselves how a genius like Kurt Cobain fell in love with a screeching, wild, pretty in the most unconventional sense, junkie like Love. And what in the world possessed the talented Sid to worship the ground under Nancy Spungens feet? The answer to that is love knows no boundaries and crazy women can be very attractive..Love stories like these are always destined to a tragic end. How can a man be in love with such a larger than life woman, without either self-destructing (Kurt Cobain) or murdering the object of his affection (Sid Vicious)? Kurt met Courtney at a concert and it was love at first sight. They got closer to each other by sharing their beloved hobby, drugs. A few years later, Kurt and Courtney had a daugther, Frances Bean., who is at the moment still under Love's custody, but I doubt for very much longer. A lot of Nirvana fans think Courtney used Kurt to become famous. I think she really loved him. I can imagine how easy it is, to become attached to such a sensitive, handsome, talented man. Courtney has enough will power to achieve fame on her own. But a man that already suffers depression and is suicidal, does not need a wife, who is so addicted to drugs, that she couldn't even stop taking heroin while she was pregnant. In 1993 Cobain overdosed on the drug that his Love had introduced him to, heroin. Rather than calling an ambulance, she injected him with an illegal drug, so he would regain consciousness. The sanity of such a woman really is doubtful. Kurt went into rehab, escaped and returned to Seattle, his birthplace. Courtney knew nothing of his whereabouts. The next day, he was dead. He shot himself and all he left behind was a suicide note, a beautiful daugther and the legacy of a talented artist. Now, you have to ask yourself if Cobain was not driven to suicide by this woman, this woman that cursed the paparazzi and harassed his ex-girlfriend. This woman that sobbed hysterically on national TV, while reading Kurts suicide note, calling him a ,,fucking asshole" and at the same time pleading for him to come back. Since his death, Courtney spends most of her time battling in court, she has been arrested with multiple drugs and she is on the verge of losing her daughter. What happened to the happy ending? Sid met Nancy in London. Nancy had travelled from America to England, because she had heard that heroin was practically free in London. She was an addict. Sounds familiar? She was also a groupie and had severe depresssion since the age of 11. Sid was impressed by Nancy, because she was living the ,,live fast, die young" lifestyle, that he could only portray in his songs. He began to take heroin too. This is another couple, that I believed truly, deeply loved each other. But both had aggressive, antisocial personalities. They were constantly tearing each other apart. This didn't prevent Vicious from becoming emotionally dependent on her, he needed her. Sids band, the Sex Pistols hated Nancy, as much as Nirvana had hated Courtney. Nancy persuaded Vicious to leave the band and she became his ,,manager" The press called her ,,Nauseating Nancy, as she rained verbal and physical abuse down on them. He did not have much success as a solo artist. They continued down the path of drug addiction and self destruction. A journalist tried to interview them in their home. Spungen could barely sit up and Sid was wavering between consciousness and another world. One morning in October he woke up and found his girl crumpled dead on the bathroom floor. She had been stabbed and bled to death. Sid was arrested and charged with her murder. At first he denied it and then he admitted killing her in a drugged stupor, because he was a ,,dirty dog".After his bail was paid and he got out of jail, he took a heroin ovedose and died. A classic case of can't live with her, can't live without her.
