Lots to see and experience.
Entertainment:
JJ Abrams just has the magic touch it seems, as he's able to
weave a great concept into a tremendous script featuring
compelling characters, mixing science fiction with drama rarely
seen before. Lost, his latest creation, might be his best - with
a fabulous cast and a nice mix of on-going storylines which
always end with the signature Abrams cliffhanger on every
episode, the series was developed very well in season one. The
show has just the right mix of everything to make it a
compelling watch from episode to episode. Although some
cliffhangers aren't always resolved in the next episode, the
story moves along very nicely and makes for a great
entertainment experience.
Lasting factor:
Lost will undoubtedly be a fan favorite for many seasons to
come. It wouldn't surprise me at all to eventually see it in
syndication, and with the great ratings from season one, it
should definitely get tons of airtime in your DVD player (and
chances are all the friends that want to borrow it).
Audio / Video quality:
The video visual experience of this DVD set is awesome. The
locations on the set in Hawaii is amazing, and the transfer to
widescreen DVD has been flawless. The audio experience,
featuring 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound is awesome. A
tremendous A/V experience.
Originality & Overall Impressions:
Lost got great ratings for a reason - it's a great show. For
fans of Alias, it offers up much of the same suspense, intrigue,
science fiction, and great acting we're used to. For people that
have yet to see the show but have heard about the hype -
investing in this first season DVD set is a wise move. It's a
compelling, unique, and immersive show that features tremendous
storylines and great acting.
The first season of Lost on DVD is an absolute hit. The DVD set
features fantastic audio and video, tons of extras, and of
course one of the more compelling and interesting show of the
last 5 years. The entertainment value is very high, and the
season ends with enough questions that season two shouldn't
disappoint. All in all a great buy and highly recommended for
purchase.
