4 Things To Do If Want To Get Over A Cold In No Time.
Feeling a little rundown or have the common cold? At one point
or another it happens to us all, so do not feel bad about it.
What I have found to be true is that the old standbys are still
the best remedies for the common cold.
1. Sleep like you have never slept before. Sleeping is probably
one of the best remedies for the common cold. When you sleep
your body gets a chance to build up its strength and natural
healing abilities which ward off those pesky mutants invading
your body. Not only is sleep good for getting over a cold in no
time, it is very inexpensive.
2. Feel good mentally and you will most likely feel much better
physically. Typically when our body is run down we usually
aren't in the best of moods. This negative mood can actually
make our sickness worse. I know for myself, when I get sick, I
am usually upset that I am not doing the activities I really
enjoy doing. This compounds the effects of the cold or
infection. So it is important to remind ourselves that we are
only temporarily ill and the rest of our life will not be this
bad. If you want to get over a cold sooner than later, accept
that you have cold, think well about it and just go with the
flow. Maybe take a nap.
3. Drink water and drink some more water. Proper hydration
allows the right chemicals and nutrients to move around our body
in a much easier fashion. Without the proper hydration our body
fluids get thicker and do not work as efficiently as they
should. Just imagine having a cold and having all that mucus
stuck inside you. That mucus gets out of your body much faster
when it's thinned out by water. Your blood pumps easier when
hydrated properly., moving the healing nutrients throughout your
body. Drink more and more water the next time you just start to
feel sick and watch how much faster you heal. Proper hydration
is an excellent preventive measure as well.
4. Nature's Cold Medications I try to stay away from the
laboratory drugs and stick with Mother Nature's remedies.
Garlic, Mushrooms and chicken broth all lend themselves to
healing. Garlic and mushrooms are both believed to be natural
immune system boosters. Plus they go along great in chicken
soup. Remember our mothers and grandmothers pushing chicken soup
on you when you were a kid. Well, she had something right. A
team of Nebraska University Researchers found that chicken soup
has natural anti-inflammatory agents that sooth sore throats and
colds. They also found that chicken soup and many of its
ingredients helped stop the movement of neutrophils - white
blood cells that stimulate the release of the mucus believed to
cause cold symptoms such as coughing and stuffy-nose.
So remember, take it easy, think positive, drink water and rely
on some old fashion advice and you will be feeling like a
million bucks in no time.
