Breathable Sportswear at Less Cost
For years the best jackets and pants for enduring wet and cold
conditions usually had the name Gor-Tex (tm) associated with
them. Consumers who could afford Gort-Tex (tm) got it, the rest
of the us settled for nylon gear that kept us dry from rain or
snow, but lacked the ability to breath and keep us comfortable
(think wrapping yourself in a plastic film). It didn't take too
long for others to produce fabrics with the same inherent
abilities at much less cost and those are available today at
much more affordable prices for all consumers.
Various web sites, such as www.discount-leather.net, now sell
waterproof and windproof clothing using these new, less
expensive technologies. Typically, these newer items feature an
outer Nylon shell made of virtually any grade of nylon from
tough ballistic to soft fashion nylons. Inside this nylon shell,
a layer of PVC is laminated onto the nylon. This plastic layer
prevents wind or water from penetrating into the inner layer.
The inner micro-porous nylon layer is sewn to the outer layer.
This allows your bodies moisture to wick away from you. Other
features such as zipper vents allow you to control the heat
inside the jacket with a quick pull of the zipper. Don't forget
insulated linings. Most of these jackets and pants have zip-out
insulated linings so if you get too warm on the sunny slopes of
the ski resort, a quick removal of the insulated layer will
allow you to be comfortable.
Today, you can purchase a jacket with micro-porous laminate for
less than half the cost of a comparable Gor-Tex (tm) jacket with
many more features. These windproof and waterproof clothes
feature a variety of nylon outer shells, from tough Duratex 600D
to the more fashionable Oxford Nylon, and all come in a variety
of colors and even camouflage. They come with features such as
zip-out insulated linings, stretch panels for ease of movement,
CE soft padding in the elbows, shoulders, back, hips and knees
for Motorcycle, ATV or Snowmobile riders, plus the option of air
vents. If you hike or backpack, these clothes are ideal and the
same technology is found in rain suits that keep you dry inside
and out. Great technology for keeping you dry is now available
at a price everyone can afford.
