Japan's Hitachi to set up outsourcing bases in India - report
TOKYO - Hitachi Ltd will open outsourcing offices in India to
provide software development and systems maintenance
services for corporate clients, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun
reported, quoting company sources.
The company, a major manufacturer of electrical machinery, will
tie up with Satyam, an IT business based in the south central
Indian city of Secunderabad, and Intelligroup, an Indian-owned
US company, the report said.
It will open offices in Bangalore and Hyderabad, where the
Indian partners operate, with a combined staff of 200, hoping to
expand to 1,000 employees in two years.
The Indian bases will mainly target Japanese companies operating
in the US and Europe, the paper said.
In addition to developing software, they will send
engineers to clients to provide systems maintenance and other
services, it said.
