Some Great Ideas For Baby Shower Themes
If you're planning an upcoming baby shower, one of the very
first things you're going to want to do is decide upon a theme.
The theme you choose will dictate the type of cake you purchase,
the decorations, the games, the party favors and so on. Don't
forget to take into account if the mother-to-be is having a boy
or a girl and her likes and dislikes before making your final
decision.
A fun baby shower theme to use is "Hollywood Mommies." You can
be very creative with this theme and even request that your
guests dress a little "Hollywood" on your invitations. For
example, you could have your guests wear fancy hats, dark
sunglasses and dresses to help enhance the theme. The
decorations could include pictures of famous people with their
children, such as Julia Roberts, Courtney Cox, Angelina Jolie,
Nicole Kidman and Britney Spears. Most party stores will have
plates, cups, streamers and more that follow along perfectly
with a Hollywood theme and you can have a cake made that depicts
a Hollywood mom or the Hollywood hills to complete the look.
Another cute idea for a baby boy or girl shower is the "Rubber
Ducky" theme. For an adorable centerpiece, float a rubber ducky
in a glass pedestal filled with crystals and add a dash of blue
food coloring. Place buffet style appetizers and sweets around
it on orange or yellow colored plates. Some food ideas include
cheese and crackers, crab cakes, croissant sandwiches, cupcakes
with rubber ducky's on them, brownies and cookies. For the gift
table, fill a baby bath with ducky themed gifts for the
mom-to-be. From burp cloths to tiny t-shirts, finding ducky
themed clothes and baby items will be easy and available at just
about any baby store. Make your guests "ooh and ahh" over your
sweet party favors by giving out ducky shaped soap and bubble
bath. For a creative touch your guests will love, make your
punch blue and float a ducky in the bowl.
If the mommy-to-be is having a girl, the "Tea Party" theme is
not only fun, but it will bring your guests back to their
childhood. Remember when you were little and used to invite your
friends over for a make believe tea party? Now you can have a
real one that will wow your guests from the moment they step in
the door. Decorate with different shades of pink for the punch,
cups, napkins, plates, streamers and flowers. Serve finger
sandwiches, plenty of confections, many varieties of tea and of
course, a cake with a teapot or a baby girl design on it. For
party favors, give out tiny teapots with flowers in them.
There are many different themes you can use for a baby shower,
from the "Bear Necessities" where you have the guests bring the
mommy-to-be all the necessary items she will need when her baby
is born to a "Little League" sports theme for a baby boy with
basketballs and soccer balls as decorations. But, it's using
your creativity for those little touches that will go along way
into making a memorable baby shower for the mother-to-be and all
of her guests. Good luck!
