There is a universal language that speaks loud and clear without saying a word. It communicates instead with colors and fabrics. Some have an enormous vocabulary and are constantly recreating their looks, while others are quieter and less obtrusive. It's the nonverbal language of style, and through it we can express ourselves any way we wish. Luckily, we've come a long way in the comfort department when it comes to communicating our sense of style.
Imagine waking up every morning and having to throw on a suction-tight iron corset or a big bustle underneath a heavy ornate dress, ouch! It's taken a heavy share of hard work and painstaking styles to get us to where we are today. All I can say is thank goodness for yoga pants and sneakers.
Active wear is no longer reserved for sports. There has been an amazing rise in the popularity of sporty apparel throughout the past years, but it has never has been more in vogue than it is today. Different styles of comfortable active wear are now the main event on the fashion runways. The enormous influence of sports apparel has leaked into virtually every realm of fashion. Accessories such as armbands, sweatbands and big watches are a result of this booming super sporty trend.
Designers have taken sportswear to a whole level. Comfort and sex appeal now go hand in hand. You can still look feminine, sexy and give off attitude with the right combinations. Fitness and yoga pants are not just for the gym anymore. Active apparel has been designed to accentuate a woman's body. The new, low-cut trimming styles allow you to display these sporty pants anywhere and still look super cute.
Strike one, strike two, strike three -- it's time to sport some baseball tees. Slim fitting jersey tanks and tops with number patches and crests will also be prevalent this season. These go great with khaki pants or pinstriped trousers. Hoodies with funky designs and solid-color tees are another favorite. These go great with rolled up pants. Have fun, and mix and match casual with elegant. Cropped is the keyword this season, and heels go great with three-quarter length pants, cuffed or rolled up.
If you aren't into team sports, why not go on a safari? Don't worry; you won't have to go to Africa to see wildlife. Safari style is making a big roar on the streets. In order to stay in style this season, you will want to hunt for safari jackets and animal prints. You can accentuate this look by going a little wild with necklaces. Layer your necklaces. Instead of one necklace, wear three. This will create a sexy earthy look. Top off your safari jungle outfit with a pair of Aviator sunglasses, and you will be completely ready to go.
Sports are meant to be played, and so is fashion. You can change your whole look by simply combining a refined look with a comfortable sporty item. Tennis shoes are a great way to do this. Kick off those heels and sport some sneakers with that summer dress, or wear heels instead of tennis shoes with those cropped pants. Play around, have fun and be grateful that sporty is so super sheik and styling this season.
The bottom line: Get two. However, if you really don't want to own two different foundations, you can still try another trick. Use the color you would normally use, or your base color, and add some bronzer on top when you get darker. The bronzer will help to deepen the foundation, and the difference in color between your face and the rest of your body will be minimized. You can also try using a pressed powder that is slightly darker than your natural skintone for the same effect. However, if you go more than two shades darker, it will look unnatural.
