Cell Phones for Dummies
What is a cell phone? I am sure most all of us have been
exposed to a cell phone by now. In fact, it is safe to bet that
most of us own one or more cell phones already. After all, there
are around 1.7 billion cell phone subscribers around the
globe today. So getting back to the question; a cell phone is
basically a telephone that connects to a telephone network
wirelessly using radio transmission technology. As Wikipedia
points out, the cell phone communicates via a network of base
stations which are in turn linked to the conventional telephone
network.
