How Tiffany Stained Glass Is Colored
The colors that you see in Tiffany style stained glass are
generally an integral part of the glass and created by the
addition of various metal oxides and minerals to the glass while
it is in the molten state. Below is a partial list of popular
colors and the minerals used to achieve those colors.
Manganese creates violet colors
Copper creates various red colors and green colors
Cobalt creates blues, uranium creates yellows and greens
Iron creates greens and browns
Gold creates purples and reds
Tin creates opaque white
Chromium creates emerald
Antimony creates yellow, etc.
