How to Meet and Grow Rich
Not another meeting! That kept me out of the network marketing
business for a long time. I had some success with network
marketing; I was actually a top 10 producer. I then spun that
business in to a "real business" that went phenomenally well and
then phenomenally crashed. Then I got a "real job" in management
with a fortune 100 company that merged so many times that it
became too management top heavy.
So I decided to go into sales. At least, I could control my own
destiny. By after spending too much time selling a very
expensive product to people I knew couldn't afford, I got an
attack of consciousness.
I wanted to get back into network marketing. I liked the
freedom. I liked helping other people make money. I liked
backing a product that I believed in.... But I didn't want to go
to any meetings!!!
And you probably feel or hear the same thing from some of your
"hot prospects", people who you know would be great in your
business, but just don't want to go to meetings.
And why would they! Most "meetings" are unproductive. They drone
on and on with no fulfillment or promise except that of another
meeting. Who wants more of that?
You should! But not without a little reframing.
Your regular opportunity meeting serves two purposes. The
presentation is designed to push the emotional buttons of your
prospect. It gives them the permission to dream once again. It
allows them to think "Maybe I can take control of my life!" It
gives them the hope of freedom, from the shackles of financial
bondage. And it gives them permission to get back onto the
highway of life instead of letting it pass them by.
But more importantly it sells YOU that dream all over again.
Your opportunity meeting is a mental recharge for you, after a
week of getting beat up by life. Most of the people in the world
are like the majority of people in the movie the matrix. They
are living out some kind of programming that allows them to
mindlessly live out their lives. It is those of us that choose
to take control of our lives that realize life is to be lived.
Your weekly meeting also serves as your mastermind group. If you
haven't read it yet, get the book Think and Grow Rich. It talks
about the importance of a mastermind group; a group of like
minded individuals that work together to help each other achieve
their goals. Before and after these meetings you can hear
stories of people's success. And more importantly these people
are willing to help you obtain success because the have a vested
interest in your success.
You will get to meet and talk with some of the most successful
people in your organization. Remember you are a reflection of
the company you keep. So spend your time at these meetings
plucking the brains of the successful while avoiding the whiners
(because there will be a few of them there, too). You don't get
to be a $30,000 a month earner, hanging around people making
$300 a month. And unless one of those earners is living with
you, you need to get out to your meetings and hang out with
them. As a matter of fact, you will probably notice that the
people that come to the meetings the most are the ones making
the most money. So if you want what they have... do what they
do. GO TO THE MEETINGS!
Instead of looking at your opportunity meeting as just another
meeting look at it as a social event. Use it to refuel your
passion and commitment, not just to your business... but to
yourself.
To your wealth,
Brian Johnson
