Sunken Ship

We thought that the Vikings couldn't sink any lower then they had after game 3. Then came the alleged sex cruise scandal. The cruise was the Vikings way of spending their bye week preparing for the the Chicago Bears. We thought that this was the lowest point. Sure. Well it wasn't. The low point hit on Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. The Bears beat the purple 28-3.

This type of play doesn't seem real. The Vikings were picked by some experts to win the Super Bowl. The terrible thing is that the Bears played poorly on Sunday and were still able to demolish the Vikings. Tice had assured Vikings fans that the team would be prepared and would win the game. So where was the victory? It's becoming obvious that we can't trust what coach Tice says anymore.

Now Tice is saying that his team will be motivated against their arch rival Green Bay Packers. Yeah right. So how will the Vikings celebrate last Sunday's loss? We're not sure and we can't even bear to imagine.

It's becoming harder and harder to watch the Vikings. Culpepper threw his twelfth league leading interception. Anytime the Vikings seemed to be moving the ball (primarily in the first half) they messed up by making bad mistakes.

Tice said that Culpepper made good decisions during Sunday's game. Come on Mike. Are you kidding me? What game did Tice watch? I guess throwing his twelfth interception and not scoring any touchdowns is making good decisions.

This season seems to be a bad joke or a terrible dream that has become reality. Mike Tice doesn't realize what's happening with his team. The Vikings are playing like pewee football players. That's actually an insult to pewee players and we wouldn't want to do that. His team is caught up in one of the worst scandals to hit the NFL in recent years. Tice doesn't seem to realize this.

It's obvious that this season is over. Now it's time to think about the future without Mike Tice. I wonder who would actually like to take over from him. Well hopefully the hunt for a new coach will begin soon.

I just don't think Tice is capable of enforcing the code of conduct policy of owner Zygi Wilf. I don't believe that Tice commands the respect of his players. Tice also isn't equipped to handle the complexities of being a head coach in the NFL.

So have the Vikings truly hit rock bottom? I don't think so. I think they'll hit rock bottom when they face Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Green Bay played much better in their last game and they've been competitive in all their games this season. Brett Favre will destroy the Vikings. This may actually spell the end of the Tice era.

I'm sorry that I didn't do more analysis of Sunday's game but there wasn't too much to analyze. It's too painful to think about what has gone wrong this year. Unfortunately I have to watch another game on Sunday. I'm terrified to see what will transpire
