There is nothing more hideous than a stain on your ceiling, what are you going to do.
First thing you do is to figure out where the problem originated from, and stop it. After you fix the stain you do not what it to come back, worse! Once the source of the ceiling stain is fixed. The ceiling stain is still there, ugly, sticking out like a sore thumb for every one to see. Before you do anything make sure that it is totally dry. So give it a few days after you fix the water problem source, to give it plenty of time to dry all the way through.
Make sure that the structure of the sheet rock is not compromised. If it is, you have some more work to do.You have to replace part of the sheet rock and resurface that part of the ceiling to match the rest. This is tricky so take your time.
If it is just a stain. There is a simple fix, almost too simple. Go to your local home improvements store, and look for Kilz in the spray can. Spray the spot in a couple of very thin coats. It will be gone. If you get some white paint, it will have the opposite effect. You will get a white spot. Almost just as bad.
Ceiling stains, Gone!
