HU.R.U?

HU.R.U?
John 1:19(KJV)
"And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?"
The prime question asked John the Baptist is now directed to each and every reader of this article in a contemporary form-'HU.R.U?' which means 'WHO ARE YOU?' that is,'who are you destined to be?'
The correct answer to this question is fundamental to the discovery, pursuit, and fulfillment of divine destiny.
The topic of self-discovery has been widely researched but when it is implemented outside the light of the gospel of God it leads to all forms of human pride which always ends in destruction(Prov.16:18).
John 1:20(KJV)
"And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ."
The first part of John's answer is very important!
Each person should know 'who he/she is not'.
Ignorance of this leads to 'the cloning syndrome' discussed in 'a fool's paradise'
A person suffers from this syndrome when he/she tries to be someone else.
Extension of this is when one tries to be what people say one is instead of what God says one is.
John 1:21(KJV)
"And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No."
When any one falls into such a trap,he/she will pursue an earthy vision instead of a heavenly one.
Even one's secular calling should be in line with one's heavenly vision.
John 1:23(KJV)
"He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias."
This second part of John's answer is even much more important than the first part!
When he was challenged,John the Baptist did not apologise or boast about who he really was!
This is because he knew who he was,and what he was called to do in relation to the person and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ:
John 1:25-27(KJV)
"And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?"
"John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;"
"He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose."
This is a very important key to the discovery, pursuit, and fulfillment of divine destiny for everyone alive on earth today!
Without the Lord Jesus Christ,no one is truly able to answer this prime question of destiny!
He himself is the Answer!!!
Jesus Christ fully knows who you truly are just like he knew who John the Baptist truly was:
Matt.11:10(KJV)
"For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee."
Therefore the initial step is to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as one's personal Lord and Saviour:
John 1:12-13(KJV)
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"
"Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
Upon taking this step, one begins and continues to live for Christ daily as his follower:
2 Cor.5:15(KJV)
"And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again."
A true disciple of Christ is not 'self-preaching' or 'self-serving':
2 Cor.4:5(KJV)
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake."
He/she is called to be a faithful ambassador of Christ in his/her own community to preach the gospel of Christ via his/her unique personal testimony:
2 Cor.5:20(KJV)
"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God."
True discipleship does not destroy one's uniqueness rather it preserves and enhances it so that one's destiny gets fulfilled to the glory of God!
Of course this will not hinder one in being a vibrant and healthy member of the universal body of Christ, and the global community of humanity!
Therefore the sincere prayer for each reader today is:
Eph.1:17-19(KJV)
"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:"
"The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, "
"And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,"
