When L. Ron Hubbard actually died there was a different air of open investigation that American media was involved with. The Church of Scientology had not adequately proven they had the goods on other religions and nations using mind control against their flock and so they had not been granted tax free status. Germany and France are still engaged in trying to tell the truth about them. Time Magazine did a lot of good work around this time and they were backed by the likes of the FBI but now anyone in the media who tells any truth about Scientology will have a lot of legal expenses and they are also blackballed by the members of this church just like the Baptists have done to Disney and Catholics or others do all the time.
