Recently a new innovation had been launched in the online poker world. Now you and your friends can form "Poker Teams" and compete against other teams online.
Each poker team consists of between five to ten players. A Team Manager heads up the squad and assigns different team players to play in different events.
Your team can choose to play in Poker Leagues and Poker Eliminator events.
I think the addition of team poker to the online poker experience is a great one. One of the things that I've often complained about when playing my online poker is that there is often a lack of community at the tables. Until now, it has all been so anonymous.
Team poker is changing all of that. Now your online poker games can be shared with folks you know and have similar expiences. You could form a team with your classmates, co-workers, softball team, or just with old friends.
And because the games are online, geography is no boundry. Maybe a poker team is just the thing to reunite you with your long lost college friends or hometown buddies.
Your team could be formed with new poker playing friends that share a common interest. Maybe you are crazy about the New York Yankees or the Indianapolis Colts. Why not start a poker team that recruits poker players with your same passion?
And why stop at forming sports related teams? I can just see a great rivalry developing between the "Young Republicans" versus the "Old Democrats". The possibilities for your team are only limited by your imagination ( Middle-Aged Libertarians, anyone?).
Team poker is a welcome innovation for the online poker players that like to play competitive poker- but also enjoy playing a social game with friends.
