Single Mission UAVs Needed in The Battlespace

It is great to see that the most advanced military contractors are developing large rounds, which can be steered after firing to insure accuracy of pinpointing the target. Steerable mortars are also a great new innovation and we are already working on those.

All these new innovations will be available to the future fighting force in the up coming years ahead. These are wonderful new weapon achievements to prevent collateral damage and save the lives of innocent civilians and those who have come up with these concepts deserve the highest honors our nation has to offer, yet for maximum loitering I hereby propose and recommend that we use these along with Single Mission mini sized Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or UAVs in the future battlespace.

Ground troops need a small handheld, man portable easy to launch UAV system that is thrown and launched like a Frisbee. This small unit would have a balloon or kite system attached so it could fly very slow once airborne. The system and frame of the small RC Model sized weapon would be actually made of plastic explosives. After it is launched it would fly to the pre-designated waypoint area and be able to loiter for as long the soldier wanted and then autonomously pick targets, which would appear on a PDA wireless device on a screen. The UAV would send back this view to a PDA and ask the soldier to confirm, similar to the old 1.5 way satellite Alpha Numeric Pagers. Launch and forget, the UAV would remind you that it is up there, has found a target and then asks one simple question, Y or N; meaning do want the UAV to fly down to the that target and explore; yes or no? Think on this in 2006.
