2005 Tropical Hurricane Season to Continue Through the New Year

Well just when we thought it was all over; the 2005 Tropical Atlantic Hurricane Season once again decides to break just one more record. Mother Nature wants to ring in the New Year just to remind us that she blew the doors off the all known Tropical Hurricane records. So this old acquaintance will not be forgotten now or in the New Year.

Meteorologists are quite intrigued and somewhat amused by the Tropical Storm Zeta, which seems to be strengthening. Now Hurricane experts are wondering what to do next? If Tropical Storm Zeta becomes a Hurricane, which indeed may not be so likely, but it is possible; then does it start a new Tropical Hurricane Season of 2006; six months early or does it finish the 2005 Season one month late, which just happened to take it into 2006?

All good questions seeing as Wilma a Category Five Hurricane with the most powerful winds ever recorded should have been a Category Six, but no such category exists. And now that we plunged into the Greek Alphabet, can we really use those names again as many of those names ended up Hurricanes and some caused deaths, thus we could confuse people with the duplication of names?

It seems that the meteorologists are not the only ones amused; Mother Nature seems to be laughing at us humans, as she decides to join in on the New Years festivities and ring in the New Year with a little warm air of her own. So, it appears we shall see much more of this in 2006.
