In 2005 we saw some spectacular advances in future weapons trends and we also saw much of the Future Force Roadmap get well under way. Unbelievable progress has been made in military robotics and unmanned vehicles in the land, sea and air. Some are even discussion robotic tunneling systems for military usage. In 2005 we saw continued actual use and expanded research and development in many areas of UAVs, stealth, missile defense systems and surveillance systems. One of the most spectacular things we saw was the use of high-energy lasers for missile defense and for airborne attack.
In 2006 we will see extended use of high energy Star Wars type laser systems some small enough to fit on a Humvee or in the bomb bay doors of Stealth Aircraft. We will also see high-energy anti-personal weapons, both lethal and non-lethal. We will see better and more reliable non-line of sight communication systems. We will see further development of robotic war fighting machines and robotic assistance to our forces in the battlespace.
We will also see new advances in using weather as a weapon or to serve our political will as a blockage or to slow enemy advances. In 2006 we will many dreams realized in modern day weaponry with a greater focus on defense systems rather than offensive weapons, as we have run out of enemies up for a fight at our level of precision and expertise. Never the less we will find new ways to defeat and weed out International Terrorists and enemy combatants where ever they are, with swift teams and instant elimination capabilities. They cannot run and they cannot hide. We will see much of this in 2006.
