It is well known that the US Mexican Border is not secure. It is also well known that every effort to shore up one area, only produces more illegal alien crossings somewhere else. In fact many of these people cross at night and the Border Patrol has a tough time catching them. Oh they know where they have been as they can see the footprints, debris and trash strewn along the way. Unfortunately an occasional dead body too from those who try to make it in the hot summer sun is found as the desert ants, rats and birds feast on the dead body. This is a horrible tragedy indeed, as it represents an individual with hopes and dreams for a better life in the abundance of the United States of America.
Recently in Tucson Arizona a naturalist and scientific researcher has introduced the use of infrared cameras to catch the nocturnal wild animals in the desert. The infrared senses the animal and then snaps a digital image and flash bulb. The pictures are later retrieved and taken in for closer study and review. See for yourself and read about this project:

I propose we use this same system to videotape, photograph and catch those who avoid coming to the United States thru legal checkpoints. Additionally I propose we hide these cameras in the vegetation at the popular illegal crossing areas. What do you think of catching Illegal Aliens via Infrared Cactus Cameras? Think on this in 2006.
