We know that gambling is innate. So do the corporations who own the large Casinos in Tunica, Gulf Coast, Atlantic City and Las Vegas. The Native American Indians know this too and they know it well, very well.
Many believe that when humans are gambling that they release chemicals in their brain that are caused by the anticipation, excitement and fear. Gambling is addictive they say so it would seem thus these people who believe this make a very good point here indeed.
Gambling therefore is using these chemicals and we know too that all cultures gamble in some way or have games they play which are risk based. Risk-reward scenarios are pleasing to the human mind. This is good in many respects because it is causing the species to "press on" and go beyond.
We should be pro-forward progression of humankind. Gambling on the other hand can be bad because trying to stay on that high-level excitement means you have to increase your contests to the point of being dangerous to your cash flow or in the event of extreme sports your physical life.
The adrenaline rush along with the anticipation of the other euphoric feelings seem to be achievable in a wide variety of human endeavors, thus the species seems to be using this to propel its self. Although unfortunately there are times when this need for more extreme and risk can turn one or a group against another or another group to attack in contest or war in the sound and fury, which is destructive rather than productive. Consider this in 2006.
