Vibrational Energy and Aerodynamics of Flight

Can we build a Micro-Air Vehicle or MAV, which uses vibrational energy from directed sound waves to create advantages in flying characteristics? Did you know that NASA built a little MAV powered by a laser, but it could have easily been powered by sound or vibrational energy the way the design looked from the picture?

There could be something to that and it would seem when designing smart dust flying communication MEMS using nodes and motes that it should be able to use this same method on a very small scale. We know vibrational energy can be used thru acoustic transducers to makes such things possible; here is another off subject topic and theory of mine:

Should we consider designing dragonfly size robotic MAVs to fly around and use vibrational sound energies to increase efficiency and perhaps even fully propel them? Can it even be possible? Is it worthy of our time and research dollars to try? Currently the NASA SATS program is looking for ways increase performance and safety in private aircraft and bring private air travel too the masses and this could be one way to do just that. Well, I believe it is and I am most certain it can be done. Perhaps we should consider this in 2006.
