Abandoned Automobile Action Plan for Municipalities

One of the problems most municipalities encounter is abandoned automobiles. And if something is not done they pile up all over the place. Even if they are taken away under contract from a towing company, usually the tow company cannot get more than $150.00 for them, even for scrap and thus they do not want them either. Every city needs and abandoned automobile action plan and it needs to be known by the citizenry and dealt with to the satisfaction of all. If such an action plan is not in place then you end up with cars which have had all for wheels stolen, broken into and graffiti with no owner to claim them. This can be a major plight on any city or community.

How many abandoned cars does your city have? Do you even know? Do you care? I bet it is significant and it is indeed a plight on your community. There are benefits to cleaning the streets of abandoned cars and it is a smart thing to do. Look at some of the other programs out there;

Every city needs an abandoned vehicle plan, because as fuel prices get higher people can no longer afford the fuel and will abandon old cars which have values of less than $1500 the first time a big repair bill comes along and that creates a significant problem for any municipality. So you need to be thinking here and I sincerely hope you will consider all this in 2006.
