Did you know that you can create a successful online business without any creative abilities of your own? That's right!
Yes, you need a product, and that product must be something that people want. But the key is the product doesn't have to be your own. Your online success is determined by the length of time it takes you to go from concept to finished product that is ready to market.
The fastest type of product to make for your online business is an ebook. There are numerous books in the public domain that are available right now for you to turn into an ebook within minutes. Public domain means they are not restricted by the normal copyright laws. You are free to use the information any way you like.
All U.S. government information is in the public domain, for example, including an entire website devoted to the hot topic of identity theft. Any work produced before 1923 is automatically in the public domain, and much of it has already been placed online. Even some newer books and films are in the public domain.
How do you find these books? Project Gutenberg at http://www.Gutenberg.org is just one website that contains 16,000 public domain works. The site also tells you the top 100 ebooks that were downloaded yesterday.
Cutting and pasting a public domain book is easy, and you can do it in five minutes or less once you know the process. From http://www.Gutenberg.org, you can download a book in html format or as plain text. You select all of the text by typing Ctrl + A. Then, you type Ctrl + C to copy the entire book. Open a new Microsoft Word file, and type Ctrl + V. Highlight the bottom portion of the file to delete references to Project Gutenberg, and voila! You have a new ebook.
This is absolutely legal, and all you have to do is take a few moments to clean up the file, add a great cover (try our software, Ecover Generator), and convert the book to pdf format using Instant PDF Generator software. In a matter of minutes, you're ready to add a product to your website!
You can even take a public domain book and turn it into a huge business like "Chicken Soup for the Soul." Take the example of the book by Lao Tzu, "The Art of War." You could easily customize that book for different markets, such as "The Art of War for Lawyers," "The Art of War for Teenagers," and so on.
But how do you determine what books will sell well? There are many fast ways to research what will sell in today's market. To research ideas for products, go to http://www.Froogle.com, which is Google's shopping search engine. You'll see a list of words at the bottom of the page, which are the topics people are searching for RIGHT NOW, and if you refresh the page, you'll see a new list of topics. The list is truly up to the minute.
Type in your topic at http://www.Inventory.Overture.com, and you'll receive 100 related topics that have been searched recently. On http://www.Paypal.com, scroll to the bottom of the homepage for a link that says "Shops." Choose one of the many subjects under "Shops," and you will see the number of sales for each shop since it began using Paypal. Since Paypal amounts to only 10% of sales on the average website, multiply the numbers by ten to obtain more accurate sales figures.
Other ways to research the topics and products that are popular include bestseller's lists, which you can find on http://www.Amazon.com, and http://www.Groups.Google.com for popular message boards and phorums.
It's much easier than you think to create an internet business and earn money online! Follow this process, and your profits just may astound you.
