Pakistan US Relations Under Strain

It appears that U.S. Pakistan relations are under some serious stress, as Pakistan cancels the deal to buy F-16s from the United States defense contractor and is ready to affirm the deal with China to make its own jet fighters. Additionally, secret US air strikes against Al Chi to have been going on within the borders of Pakistan and this has angered many Moslems there. The President and Leader General of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf declared;

"an infringement of national sovereignty."

It appears that the General is between a rock and a hard spot. If he does not go on record speaking out against the United States he will lose popularity. Yet at the same time he wishes to keep positive relations with the United States as a hedge in case of future problems within the region. But it appears China is warming up to the General and will perhaps support Pakistan and help arm them.

United States predator drones have been flying around looking for Al Queda and have launched several Hell Fire missiles killing 18 suspected International Terrorists. Of course the United States military is saying nothing, neither is the CIA and Al Queda cannot even be sure it was the USA which did it? Only that everyone is expecting more of the same.

Pakistan still remains committed to helping the United States of America in securing the Afghanistan border and helping the United States on its side of a border and assisting with intelligence for the Afghan side. Consider all this in 2006, as the war on terror continues.
