The Aspen Mountain Lodge has a bit of history attached to it. This is where skiing began on Ajax Mountain, way back in 1947, when the world's longest ski lift at the time was opened for the public. The upscale Top of the Village condo property, aptly located above the Snowmass Village on Snowmelt Road, is another very popular ski in/ski out vacation property. Surrounded by White River National Forest on three sides, the condos come in two-bedroom/two-bath units, three-bedroom/three-bath, and four-bedroom/three and one-half-bath units. A guest shuttle service is available on call. Nightly rates during December start at $863.
For some old-world charm and classic elegance, you can opt for the Creek Lane Chateau, complete with the view of a trout pond, mountain creek, and ski slope. With five bedrooms and six baths, two master bedrooms with decks and fireplaces, and an outdoor hot tub overlooking the ski slope and pond, the Chateau epitomizes the high life in ski vacations. Nightly rates climb to $3,000 during the peak season and $2,000 during regular season.
The season dates are as follows: the off-season spans from November 17 to December 16, 2005, and April 4 to April 16, 2006. The regular season is from February 9 to March 31, 2006, and the crowded holiday season lasts from December 17 to January 4, 2006.
