VIAGRA DOING WONDERS FOR SOME WOMEN
Viagra is known to have done wonders for men suffering from
Erectile Dysfunction. But a recent study throws light on the
impact of Viagra on women in their postmenopausal phase.
A group specializing in sexual functionality, conducted the
study, where postmenopausal females were diagnosed for female
sexual arousal disorder (FSAD). The disorder is defined as the
inability of a woman to have sexual arousal.
The women were divided into two groups; the first group was
given Viagra
and the other got placebo pills. Most of the women who got the
placebo, reported arousal in the genitals but the effect was far
more common and prevalent in women who consumed Viagra.
Women these days are using Viagra and they have registered their
satisfaction over the drug. Although Viagra is approved by Food
and Drug Administration for use in men, doctors are allowed to
prescribe the drug to anyone irrespective of sex. Women patients
have taken the drug prescribed by the doctors and it has done
pretty well among those in postmenopausal phase.
However, measuring the effectiveness of Viagra in women is
comparatively difficult as compared to men. In men, the sole
criterion of testing the efficacy of Viagra is the ability to
have an erection. But the complexities increase in women, where
major factors - such as proper lubrication, blood flow - need to
be ascertained before coming to any conclusion about the
effectiveness of Viagra.
There are several reasons behind the increased demand of Viagra
from the women community. Both men and women demand an improved
sex life but women are deprived of a "Viagra" like thing. The
popularity of Viagra has in some way affected the way
researchers come out with new findings. The media hype, news
releases, and sexual articles have no doubt played a major role
in fantasizing Viagra. The major fallout of the much-expected
"hype" is the "medicine cabinet" started realizing the
importance of the drug in women's sexual life.
Sexual
Dysfunction in women has been ignored by the medical
establishment, giving much importance to men's problems. But the
time has changed now, women are demanding more from the
"medicine world" to have their sexual discrepancy cured. The
success of Viagra in men has led to women demanding a drug most
likely in character and purpose, which could bring back the
pleasure of sexual life.
