Other people do put adds in the paper advertising to pick up old stuff people want to throw away. What could happen if you do something like this is that you will end up with a lot of useless trash but then again you could get lucky? As far as getting your items valued, there are a lot of ways this can be done. Somewhere in your area there is most likely an antique store which would be able to assist you to a certain degree but before you go that route make sure it is a reputable business. In dealing with people when it comes to antiques and collector items you may encounter a lot of dishonest people. Other places to go are places on the internet, but again; make sure those places are reputable.
